Advanced studies in modern Japanese literature

12 points + 2 hours per week + First semester + Clayton

Synopsis The subject covers the history of Japanese literature and introduces some of the representative works of modern and contemporary Japanese writers. A list of novels to be read in advance can be obtained from the lecturer before the commencement of the subject. Students who have not studied this subject at the undergraduate level are required to attend two additional hours of undergraduate lectures per week.

Assessment Written work (5500 words): 60%) + Seminar presentation (1500 words): 20% + Examination (2 hours): 20%
