Projects in Japanese interpreting and translation

12 points + Second semester + Clayton + Prerequisites: Completion of MA Part I in Japanese interpreting and translation and JIT5731 (Theories and practice of Japanese interpreting) or equivalent

Synopsis Students doing this subject will be organised into one of two streams: one centred on translation and the other on interpreting. Students will be expected to be able to work independently, and will be assigned a supervisor. Each student's work will revolve around a major project (in translation) or a series of small projects (in interpreting or in translation). Several joint seminars will be organised during the semester which will bring together students and supervisors in both streams to discuss problems which have arisen in carrying out their projects.
