Synopsis Geographaphical techniques cover a wide range of skills which
the geographer can bring to an understanding of both the physical and social
world. The ability to observe, record, analyse and present spatial information
in a rigorous and effective manner is a primary requirement of a graduate in
geography. Such skills are in wide demand. The subject emphasises techniques
and methods which are applicable to a range of situations. It covers
methodological issues, observational methods, sampling, statistical analysis,
computer graphics and data presentation.
Assessment Written (3000 words): 50% + Examination (2 hours): 25% +
Practical work: 25%
