Romanticism in German literature

8 points + 2 hours per week + First/Second semester + Clayton

Synopsis This subject will consist of a study of the main trends of German romanticism. Special attention is given to its theoretical foundation in the early period, as well as its later transformation under the impact of the aftermath of the French revolution. The texts studied will be selected with particular reference to the students' interests.

Assessment Written (4000 words): 70% + Examination (1 hour): 30%
