12 points + 10 studio hours per week + First/Second semester + Gippsland + Prerequisites: GVA2213

Objectives On completion of this subject students are expected to demonstrate that they have developed a level of technical competence that will enable them to work independently in the printmaking medium(s) of their choice; designed and developed an individually approved study program from which a personal approach to printmaking can be derived; developed a professional approach to printmaking and drawing in both attitude and practice; and maintained a curiosity towards the theories and practices of other artists both Australian and international.

Synopsis At this level of the course, students should have the technical competence to work in any printmaking medium of their choice and will be expected to design an individually approved program of study from which a personal approach to printmaking is derived. Drawing is considered an activity central to the study of all printmaking units and students will therefore attend weekly drawing classes conducted by printmaking staff.

Assessment Artistic and conceptual development: 40% + Technical achievement: 25% + Drawing: 25% + Contribution to critiques: 10%
