Objectives By completion of this subject students are expected to have developed an understanding of studio procedures with regard to obtaining advice, selecting materials and organisation of personal working space; an awareness of the health and safety issues with materials and machines; an elementary knowledge of the formal language and various definitions in sculpture and their associations concerned with set projects; and basic skills with fabrication techniques and methods of building.
Synopsis Up to four sculpture minor subjects may be taken. These subjects should be seen as a broadening element in the course. It follows the general procedure outlined for all sculpture major subjects, but does not expect the same levels of achievement. This subject will introduce and examine elementary issues in both the technical and conceptual areas of study.
Assessment Attendance and participation: 30% + Folio submission: 70%
