Objectives By the completion of this subject students are expected to have developed an introductory knowledge and appreciation of the processes involved in both the disciplines of ceramics and sculpture; an ability to organise and manage time, information and materials within a studio/workshop environment as well as working creatively and cooperatively within a group.

Synopsis The subject is concerned with building a foundation of art-work processes. It is concerned with the confrontation of problems as they arise during the work processes. The subject includes a structured introduction to the safe use of the school's wood and metal machines and equipment. Special emphasis will be placed on the safe use of potentially hazardous chemicals and materials.

Assessment Attendance and participation: 40% + Completion of set exercises: 60%
