Computer studies

4 points + One studio hour and one 1-hour lecture per week + Full-year subject + Caulfield + Prerequisites: GDN1170

Objectives On the successful completion of this subject students will be able to use the computer as an effective design tool; understand how to create basic colour files in the computer for full colour output at a service bureau.

Synopsis Students use their computer skills to design and communicate through type and graphics. They gain an understanding of the strengths of a variety of softwares by using them to translate design concepts into finished art. Students also learn to use colour in a variety of ways, and receive an introduction to scanning images into digital format.

Assessment Major projects: 60% + Minor projects: 40%
