Tapestry

24 points + 12 studio hours per week + Full-year subject + Caulfield +

Objectives On successful completion of this subject students will have acquired elementary weaving skills and basic knowledge about materials, equipment and techniques related to tapestry; an understanding of the visual language and expressive potential of tapestry as well as some knowledge of its historical and contemporary developments.

Synopsis Set projects will aim to encourage an appreciation of the medium as an expressive form and to develop the basic skills and techniques of tapestry. The use of a variety of materials and structures and an understanding of the development of tapestry in historical and contemporary terms will be focused upon.
