Sculpture

10 points + 4 studio hours per week + Full-year subject + Caulfield

Objectives By completion of this subject students are expected to have developed an understanding of studio procedures with regard to obtaining advice, selecting materials and organisation of personal working space; an awareness of the health and safety issues with materials and machines; an elementary knowledge of the formal language and various definitions in sculpture and their associations concerned with set projects; and basic skills with fabrication techniques and methods of building.

Synopsis Studio practice will be concerned with the acquisition of skills and techniques relating to sculpture, through various projects of a permanent or non-permanent nature. Students will be encouraged to use different media such as clay, metal, wood, plaster, resin, paper and found objects.
