Objectives On successful completion of this subject, students are expected to have demonstrated the ability to clearly and intelligently record aspects of the visual word using an extended range of drawing systems; greater interpretive and expressive qualities in their image-making; the capacity to analyse, discuss and critically assess visual statements; and an increasing confidence to work independently both on set projects and on themes of personal relevance.
Synopsis This subject aims to develop the ability to record clearly and intelligently aspects of the visual world using a variety of drawing systems. Students should also be able to handle a large range of drawing media and processes and introduce greater interpretive and expressive qualities into their image making. The ability to analyse, discuss and critically assess visual statements is the outcome of this subject. Students will be expected increasingly to work independently both on set projects and on themes of personal relevance.
