Objectives On successful completion of this subject students are expected to have demonstrated a familiarity with historical and contemporary use of fibre as a medium for creative expression; an understanding of the principles and elements of design and their relationship and application to the fibre arts; an understanding of basic techniques and practical skills associated with fibre arts; and a knowledge of health and safety regulations and procedures and competence in handling materials and operation of machinery.
Synopsis This subject aims to develop in students the ability to design and produce works in fibre which reflect a sound understanding of aesthetics, design, craftsmanship and function.
