Ceramic design

Objectives On successful completion of this course students will be able to conduct research of a technical nature in areas such as glaze development, kiln design, equipment design and glass fabrication; plan and complete a personal body of work which has a higher conceptual, and technical level of achievement.

Synopsis The studio research program chosen by the student in consultation with the honours year panel, and nominated supervisor will consist of a folio of work supplemented by appropriate documentation, or may consist entirely of technical research. It will involve critical analysis, and dialogue with peers and external specialists within their field; consultation with staff, organising a completed a program of work and documenting the process of research at a professional level; and presentation a professional independent studio research folio and professional documentation of an original nature

Assessment Folio of practical work (100%) or folio of practical work and appropriate documentation (60% and 40% respectively) or technical research paper (100%)
