Objectives On successful completion of this subject students will be able to understand organic and inorganic structural relationships in nature; recognise the basic elements and principles of drawing and design; conceptualise and develop individual drawings and designs for the studio; understand the basic drawing and design strategies and procedures used in architecture, industrial design, the visual arts and communication media.
Synopsis This subject will improve students' understanding of typical structures and relationships, in nature and increase their knowledge of basic drawing and design skills. Students will develop responses to the visual and tactile stimuli of natural and manufactured environments through observation, representation and interpretation will be arranged. Perception and awareness of the environment as a rich source for conceptual development.
Assessment Folio: 90% + Research paper (1000 words): 10%
