This specialisation focuses on principles and practices of languages education in the twenty-first century. You will explore how issues around language and culture play out in language policies, curriculum and practice in both Australian and international contexts and the implications of these for leading languages education. You will also draw on your experience to examine the development and maintenance of additional languages in formal learning environments.

  • EDF5676 Global and local innovations in language teaching and learning
  • EDF5699 Extended teaching practice (0 points)*

TESOL:

  • EDF5640 Language, culture and curriculum
  • EDF5641 Pedagogy and assessment in TESOL
  • EDF5699 Extended teaching practice (0 points)*

* EDF5699 is only available for students registered to teach in Australia.
