This specialisation will develop your early childhood practices whether you are an early childhood educator, leader, policy maker or are simply interested in advancing your understanding of young children's learning. It addresses the emerging demand in global economies to build professional capacity for the early childhood sector. It will equip you to respond to complex issues around children, their families and communities. It will enhance your ability to understand and implement inclusive teaching and learning practices among young children and to lead educational work, innovative curriculum, teaching and policy, and professional learning in early childhood contexts.

Units

In order to graduate from D6002 Master of Education with a specialisation in early childhood education students must complete two or three enhanced professional learning units (24 or 36 points) from the following:

  • EDF5904 Children, families, communities
  • EDF5905 Early years, literacy and numeracy
  • EDF5632 Understanding inclusion in learning communities
