Description

Interior architecture professionals design spatial experiences by combining their understanding of how people engage with the world, with their knowledge of structures and environments. They create spaces that communicate ideas and stories. Interior architecture at Monash enables students to study and shape the built environment inside commercial, cultural and domestic buildings. Students develop the ability to generate design concepts, seek creative solutions and use innovative construction technologies. Graduates of interior architecture may transform large scale spaces in the adaptive reuse of heritage buildings, or focus on the small detail in designing furniture for theatre sets, or even curate media and technologies when designing exhibitions.
