Synopsis

This unit introduces you to globalisation and its economic, cultural, and political implications. It includes a close study of the impact of globalisation on four key areas: the movement of people, the environment, terrorism, and gender.

Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this unit students will be able to:

Recognise the importance of debates about globalisation and its likely development.
Understand the importance of debate and discussion in the development of these ideas.
Demonstrate sound oral and written communication skills.
Understand the importance of critical analysis and be comfortable in challenging ideas and arguments.
