This unit introduces students to fundamental principles and concepts of real and personal property law including: the meaning and purpose of the concept of property; possession, seisin and title, estates in land (including successive interests); fixtures and chattels, co-ownership; general principles for the creation and enforcement of property interests in law and at equity and for the acquisition and disposition of property interests; introduction to statutory schemes of registration.
On completion of this unit students will be able to
