Synopsis

This unit develops knowledge, skills and attitudes about the use of information and computer technology in the professional practice of primary and early childhood educational settings, as well as for supporting students' harnessing of such technologies in their respective courses in the university.

Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this unit students should be able to:

demonstrate competence in the use of information and computer technology applications as appropriate for practice in a school based or early childhood context;
devise and implement procedures for assessing pupils' work in technology;
develop attitudes in valuing technology as an important new area of learning; and
develop a commitment to the continued development and improvement of technology.

Assessment Task 1: Folio (2000 words or equivalent, 50%)
