The faculty offers bachelors degrees on each of the Caulfield and Gippsland campuses, but the range of courses and major and minor sequences available is different on each campus. Art and design studies on all campuses include sequences in drawing and theory of art and design.

The faculty also offers double degrees with the Faculty of Engineering, the Faculty of Arts, the Faculty of Business and Economics and the Faculty of Education.
At the Gippsland Centre for Art and Design, students can take studies in sculpture, painting, printmaking, photomedia, web design, multimedia and audio and video within the visual arts studio programs.
Some departments or the centre may not offer all units in any one year depending on student demand and the availability of staff. Students will be notified as early as possible of the withdrawal of any unit.
The faculty also offers honours degrees on the Caulfield and Gippsland campuses. A candidate who has completed the requirements for the pass degree and who has reached a standard satisfactory to the faculty board, normally set at credit level or above, may apply to be admitted to candidature for the degree with honours, requiring a fourth year of study.
Instruction in relevant occupational health, safety and environment issues is provided in all courses offered by the Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture. The unit OHS1000 (Introduction to art and design health and safety) (0 points) is a core unit for all undergraduate courses and is a standard enrolment requirement of first-year, semester one study programs.
