SynopsisThe unit comprises two sections: 'Group work' and 'Family work'. 'Group work' examines the historical development of group work; the group work process with emphasis on the beginning, ending and enhancing communication in groups; group leadership styles and terminating groups. In 'Family work', family functioning is explained from a variety of theoretical frameworks drawing out the implications for practice. ObjectivesTo enable students to understand and articulate the theories and practices relevant to working with families and groups. Assessment
