SynopsisTopics covered include: The processes of modelling and analysis as a basis for decision making. Solution of linear systems, introduction to linear programming and its applications. Statistics: collection, presentation and interpretation of data, including time series data; simple linear regression and correlation. Probability, random variables and their distributions, application to decision-making under uncetainty. Populations and samples: sampling distribution of the sample mean; interval estimation and hypothesis testing for a population mean and proportion and for the difference between two means and proportions.
