SynopsisThis subject gives students an understanding of the fundamental principles and concepts of administrative law at State and Federal level. It examines the underlying purposes of administrative law and the mechanisms and fora by which it is applied. The subject will analyse and interpret the relevant legislation and the decisions relating to it and will provide students with an opportunity to prepare a simulated case for presentation in a administrative tribunal. The subject will provide a brief introduction to the principles of administrative review in other jurisdictions. ObjectivesOn completion of this subject students will have:
AssessmentMemorandum of Advice requiring students to prepare detailed advice on appropriate administrative law remedies in a factual situation: 30%; Final Examination: 70% Chief examiner(s)
