Synopsis

The unit aims to develop an understanding of the legal frameworks regulating marketing activities, including competition law, the regulation of marketing communication, channel strategies and the fundamentals of intellectual property principles.

Objectives

The learning goals associated with this unit are to:

  • identify, analyse and apply laws designed to protect consumers
  • identify, analyse and apply intellectual property principles and apply these to the development, marketing and protection of products, knowledge and ideas.
  • identify, analyse and apply the laws regulating a range of competition practices.

Assessment

Within semester assessment: 50%
Examination: 50%
