Synopsis

This unit provides students with an understanding of the range of regulatory responses to environmental degradation and natural resource depletion, with a particular emphasis upon the role of corporations.

Objectives

The learning goals associated with this unit are to:

• identify and analyse the range of regulatory responses to environmental degradation and natural resource depletion
• identify and analyse the role of corporations under various regulatory strategies, with particular emphasis upon market based strategies.
• identify and analyse the relative effectiveness of particular regulatory strategies using suitable corporate case studies.

Assessment

Within semester assessment: 60%
Examination (2 hours): 40%
