Credit Policy (including Recognition of Prior Learning)
This policy applies to all coursework students.
The Credit Policy (including Recognition of Prior Learning) outlines the principles for awarding credit, or recognition of prior learning, towards Monash University qualifications. The policy covers the types of credit available, credit transfer, recognition of prior learning, recency requirements and limits on credit.
The procedures outline information for applicants, credit transfer, application process, rights of applicants, documentation requirements, limits on credit, time limits, notification, assessment and appeals.
There is a single University credit application form.
Recognition of Prior Learning Procedures
Applicants should apply for recogniton of prior learning (RPL) by four weeks prior to the commencement of teaching in the course. Later applications may be accepted, but credit cannot be given for units in which the applicant has remained enrolled past the date for withdrawal with refund of fees.
