VCP4041 - Pharmacology III6 points, SCA Band 2, 0.125 EFTSLUndergraduate Victorian College of PharmacyLeader: Betty ExintarisOfferedParkville First semester 2008 (Day) SynopsisThe overall aim of this unit is to continue to build upon the knowledge of physiological systems and disease states from Pharmacology I and II. The therapeutic basis for the drugs used to treat specific disorders is discussed. At the successful completion of this unit, students should be able to describe the pathophysiology and treatment of endocrine disorders (including diabetes), gastrointestinal disorders and cancer chemotherapy. Assessment
End of semester exam: 80% (2 hours) of the assessment . The exam will be in the form of 60 minutes of multiple choice questions and 6 questions requiring approximately 10 minutes of work each. All questions will be aligned to the specific objectives given before each lecture. Contact hours
