Caulfield First semester 2008 (Day) SynopsisMost social work is practiced in an organisational setting. In order to work effectively, social workers need to understand organisational processes and how they impact on practice. This unit studies organisational theory and structure and research knowledge about organisations as a basis for assessing human service organisations. This knowledge is applied particularly in the areas of program planning and evaluation and organisational change. ObjectivesBy the end of this unit students should be able to use knowledge gained from theory and research to assess organisations; and have beginning competence in program planning, program evaluation, and organisational change.
