Peninsula First semester 2008 (Day) SynopsisPTY4080 continues to develop the five themes upon which the curriculum is based. During this 12 week unit, students undertake a paediatric clinical attachment (2 weeks) and two elective attachments (each of 4 weeks duration). These provide the opportunity to apply integrated knowledge and skills from prior learning to patient care in paediatrics and to health care consumers in a diverse range of health care settings. Students are expected to spend 34 hours per week during clinical education in health service or elective placement facilities with additional self-directed study. An additional two weeks off-campus study is allocated for completion of assignments and summative research tasks. + Written assignments: 50% Contact hoursPTY4080 comprises ten off-campus weeks in health service or elective placement facilities for education. Students are expected to spend 34 hours per week during clinical education in health service or elective placement facilities with a least 1 additional hour of self-directed study for every 2 hours of clinical education. An additional two weeks off-campus study is allocated in this unit for completion of self-directed summative research tasks. Prerequisites |
