Clayton Summer semester A 2008 (Day)
There is no formal syllabus. Students are supervised by academic staff to work in an area of mutual interest. The project may also involve lecture units, laboratory work, or reading in experimental, theoretical or applied topics. Current topics include astronomy, medical imaging, x-ray physics, resonance spectroscopies, magnetism, physics education and polymers.
Log book and written progress reports: 50%
Final report, oral presentation, seminar, poster (as appropriate): 50%
A lecture unit where taken replaces 33% of the above weights.
12 hours per week
12 points of level 2 physics, materials science or astronomy, or permission. Students must be have reached level 3 of their degree. Enrolment requires departmental approval.
