Synopsis
This subject will cover the structure, organisations, revenue base and regulatory environment of Australian media.
Objectives
The learning goals associated with this unit are to:
- describe the ownership, structure and revenue sources of Australian media and its relationship with the advertising industry and commercial marketers
- compare and contrast the industry associations in public and self-regulation of the industry
- assess the current and evolving technology of the media industry on delivery, production, management, customer and supplier interfaces
- analyse how each medium markets itself through understanding the customer, pricing, delivery and competitive positioning of each medium.

Within semester assessment: 60%
Examination (2 hours): 40%
