The objective of an internship is to give students first-hand experience in working in business in the marketing specialty in which they expect to be employed on graduation and to integrate theory with practice. Separate internship programs are drawn up for each student.

The learning objectives of this unit are to:

  • enable a critical and realistic appraisal and apply overall theory in a marketing task area;
  • provide the opportunity to identify, analyse, evaluate and prescribe possible solutions to challenges faced by organisations through a thorough analysis of a marketing issue;
  • demonstrate an understanding of the nuances and practicalities of working within an organisation.

Individually negotiated, taking into account the needs and requirements of the student, organisation and supervisory staff.
