MHP5062 - Advanced health promotion6 points, SCA Band 1, 0.125 EFTSLPostgraduate Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health SciencesLeader: Dr Sue BurneyOfferedCaulfield First semester 2008 (Off-campus) SynopsisIn this unit students will examine the biological and social determinants of health and illness with an emphasis on aetiology, epidemiology, and intervention. Mediating factors in health and illness such as social support, individual difference constructs, environmental stressors, health beliefs and behaviours will be considered. Students will also receive advanced level training in the development, implementation and evaluation of health promotion programs in conjunction with a health promotion agency. Objectives
