Clayton First semester 2008 (Day) SynopsisInstruction on the basics of automatic control, including anaysis and computational techniques (with MATLAB/SIMULINK). Assumes students have the ability to form and use classical and state-space models of linear systems, can calculate and shape their response, and have experience in using MATLAB. Control stem design through root-locus, frequency response, state-space methods, with particular focus on compensators, controllability and observability. An overview of digital, adaptive and optimal control design methods will complete the unit. Assessment
