Synopsis

In business, the ability to identify situations that would benefit from some hard facts derives from two constituent and attainable skills. A thorough understanding of what each technique can do, that is, what results it can produce. Second, the ability to extract a meaningful interpretation of the results that adds value and is accessible to management.
The objective of this unit is to facilitate for each student the attainment of these skills by taking a very practical approach. Topics covered include data description and summation, confidence interval estimation, hypothesis testing, regression analysis, and decision making under uncertainty.
