Key count decisions, international developments, and government-, business- and union-driven approaches. Comparative aspects, where relevant, will illuminate the issues selected, and areas of law reform will also be discussed. The unit has a contemporary nature and current issues will be the focus. The content of the unit may vary each time it is offered. ObjectivesOn successful completion of this unit, students will: have a detailed knowledge of the law relating to the specific topics that are selected for analysis; have a thorough understanding of the wider legal, economic and social dimensions associated with those specific topics; be aware of the limitations of the current law that applies to the relevant issue and of proposals for reform; understand the relevant issues from a selected comparative perspective; understand the international aspects that relate to the particular issues.
