Part I concerns the EU's historical development, legal powers (competences), legal instruments and decision-making procedures. Part II introduces the EU's economic law and policies, including the single market, the single currency and competition policy. Part III is devoted to the EU's relations with the world. It includes an overview of the EU's treaty-making powers and agreements with third world countries, EU trade policy (notably in the WTO) and the attempt to create a common EU foreign and security policy.
