Berwick First semester 2008 (Day) SynopsisThe unit considers journalism in both an international and a regional context. Students gain an understanding of Asian and Western values for journalism and the impact this might have on Australian journalism. Students compare various press systems and the impact of globalization on international news reporting. Topics include propaganda, censorship, reporting wars, media ownership, and national and international media agencies, with reference to specific national and international conflicts. Objectives
