Synopsis

Introduction to financial modelling using modern computer tools, including an introduction to Neural Networks. Computer modelling methodology, discounted cash flow analysis, risk measurement, shareholder value analysis, capital budgeting, project cash flow analysis, options pricing, technical analysis, short-term planning and financing, activity-based costing, accounts receivable and inventory, statement analysis and forecasting.

Objectives

On completion of this subject, students will be able to:

  1. describe the planning phase of business operations in manufacturing and service industries;
  2. identify and apply control techniques to operations; 3. use and evaluate operations management related computer systems.
