FBS9003 - Mental health and the correctional system6 points, SCA Band 1, 0.125 EFTSLPostgraduate Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health SciencesLeader: Dr Michael DaffernOfferedCaulfield Second semester 2008 (Off-campus) SynopsisThis unit is designed to assist professionals working within both Correctional Services and Mental Health Services to develop a better understanding of the causes of conflict between the two systems, the issues that underpin such conflict and to develop ways of more effectively working at the interface of these two systems. The unit is also designed to equip professionals with a deeper understanding of the role of mental health clinicians and the clinical challenges associated with working within the correctional system.
