Caulfield Second semester 2008 (Day) SynopsisStudents will learn the basics of grammar, punctuation, spelling, style, research methods, document planning and design/layout techniques, and basic proofreading and copy and structural editing approaches. These fundamentals will be used to create letters, memos and emails, reports, online text and job application letters and resumes. This subject is designed to develop writing skills appropriate to work situations. In the modern workplace, the generic, transferable or "soft" skills of communication are highly valued, and the ability to be able to write well is one of the most important of these skills.
