Skills for producing an effective bilingual program and strategies for maintaining and evaluating it. Determining which curriculum areas are most appropriately taught through students' second/foreign language at particular stages in their language development. ObjectivesUpon successful completion of this unit, students should be able to identify the characteristics of a bilingual/ immersion program for their particular educational context; design an evaluation program for their bilingual/immersion program; identify and plan for the learning needs and styles of students in an on-going bilingual/immersion program; begin to design a bilingual/immersion program for their educational context in a range of subject areas across a number of consecutive year levels.
