Clayton Second semester 2008 (Day) SynopsisThis unit is designed to introduce students to the societal and cultural diversity that surrounds and informs teaching in a wide range of educational settings. This unit focuses on ways in which teachers and learners self-identify: class and social background, gender, sexuality, race, indigeneity, and special learning needs. Educational issues implicit the creation of an inclusive curriculum are considered such as combating homophobia and bullying. Students will consider education at the local, national and international level. ObjectivesUpon successful completion of this unit students should be able to:
