EDF3801 - Program design and delivery6 points, SCA Band 0, 0.125 EFTSLUndergraduate Faculty of EducationLeader: G FitzsimonsOfferedClayton First semester 2008 (Day) SynopsisThis unit introduces students to the theory and practice of program design and delivery. Students will reflect on their own experiences and other case studies in order to identify and assess different approaches to program design, the role of the designer, underlying design principles, and intended outcomes. Students will examine concepts of program design and evaluation; understand the links between particular approaches to program design and delivery and certain situations; and learn to justify why particular design strategies are preferred in different situations. ObjectivesUpon successful completion of this unit, students should have an understanding of the theory and practice of program design and delivery; be able to identify and describe different approaches to program design and their implications for teaching, learning and assessment; be able to describe a variety of evaluation approaches and the situations in which they are best used; and be able to undertake or analyse program design and delivery taking into account a variety of situational, learner and social parameters.
