Clayton First semester 2008 (Day) SynopsisThis unit inquires into the interconnections between education and society in contemporary social and cultural contexts. It builds on a sequence of foundation units that students study in the first two years of the double degree for secondary candidates. The backdrop for study in this unit will be a consideration of historical relationships between schooling, social justice and questions of social transformation. Students will also consider how students and teachers in schools and community settings might respond to these issues at a local and global level.
