Topics covered include the collapse of consensual capitalism; the attempts at revitalising the west European economies; the impact of global capital on Europe; movement towards European economic integration; features of, and attempts to reform, the Stalinist economic and political system; the collapse of the socialist economies; problems of transforming the former socialist economies; and the prospects for European enterprise in the light of these changes.
