Caulfield Second semester 2008 (Evening) SynopsisThis unit examines the nature of a profession and the professional status of civil celebrants. Issues include legislation and precedent, registration of births, marriages and deaths, engagement, premarital and marital formalities, immigration, divorce, children's issues and death certificates. Also discussed are principles of ethics, ethical dilemmas, decisions about referral, consultation, confidentiality, listening skills and interacting with people at times of emotional stress.
