Particular emphasis will be placed on the development of biotechnology in Australia and Asian countries. The unit will help prepare students to pursue careers in biotechnology. ObjectivesStudents develop knowledge of or skill at: what biotechnology is; the science contributing to biotechnology; the structure of the biotechnology industry; Australian biotechnology; regional biotechnology; communication; conducting investigations; scientific thinking and problem solving technique; working in teams.
