Course description

This four-week intensive program, consisting of four units, is designed to provide students with the basic skills and industry knowledge necessary to enter the sales force for medical devices, consumer health and pharmaceutical companies in Australia.

The program has been developed in partnership with the Faculty of Business and Economics, and Salescadetship Pty Ltd. With the support of a number of leading pharmaceutical companies, eligible students are offered the opportunity for practical work experience within the industry.

Course objectives

To provide strong industry knowledge to course participants via the delivery of a concise curriculum that includes evidence based pharmacological principles, medical ethics, and improved sales skills.

Credit for prior studies

Credit for previous study in similar programs may be awarded on case by case basis, via negotiation with the course director.

Course structure

Course requirements

Students must complete the following units:

  • MKX9170 Pharmaceutical and healthcare product buying
  • MKX9180 Customer relationship development for pharmaceutical sales
  • VCD1201 Technical skills for pharmaceutical sales
  • VCD1202 The Australian healthcare and pharmaceutical environment

Assessment is by a combination of written examination, presentations and assignments.
